A rectangle has a perimeter of 34 and a length of 12. What is the length of a diagonal of the rectangle? A) 7 B) 13 C) 17 D) 29

The diagonal is 13, so the answer is B. The width works out to 5 from the perimeter (2·12+2w=34), then the diagonal comes from 12²+5²=169, so x=13 — a 5-12-13 right triangle.
