6Weight limit word problem
A delivery van can carry at most 1,200 kg. The driver weighs 80 kg and each box weighs 35 kg. What is the greatest number of boxes the van can carry with the driver?
The van can carry 32 boxes with the driver aboard. Subtract the driver's 80 kg from the 1,200 kg limit to get 1,120 kg left for boxes, then divide by 35 kg per box: 1120/35 = 32. Check: 32·35 + 80 = 1200.
