30Arithmetic sequence term and sum

An arithmetic sequence has first term 7 and common difference 4. Find the 20th term and the sum of the first 20 terms.

The 20th term is 83 and the sum of the first 20 terms is 900. Using aₙ = a1+(n−1)d, a20 = 7+19(4) = 83; then Sₙ = n/2(a1+aₙ) gives S20 = 10(7+83) = 900.
