30Area and side of a rhombus

The diagonals of a rhombus are 10 cm and 24 cm. Find its area and the length of a side.

The rhombus has area 120 cm² and side length 13 cm. Area comes from half the product of the diagonals: ½·10·24 = 120. The diagonals cross at right angles and halve each other into legs 5 and 12, so the side is √(5²+12²) = √169 = 13 cm.
