25Vertical angles equation
Two lines intersect. A pair of vertical angles measure (5x − 12)° and (3x + 20)°. Find x and the angle.
x = 16, and each vertical angle measures 68°. Setting 5x−12 = 3x+20 (since vertical angles are equal) gives 2x=32, so x=16; plugging back in, 5(16)−12=68° and 3(16)+20=68° match.
