5Pythagorean theorem

In right triangle PQR, ∠Q = 90°, PR = 13 and PQ = 5. Find QR.

QR = 12. Since the right angle is at Q, PR is the hypotenuse, so 5² + QR² = 13² gives QR² = 144, and QR = 12. Check: 25 + 144 = 169 ✓.
