f(x)=2x+53\displaystyle f(x) = \dfrac{2x + 5}{3}. Find f−1(7)\displaystyle f^{-1}(7).

f⁻¹(7) = 8. Finding an inverse's value at a point means solving f(x) = 7 for x: (2x+5)/3 = 7 gives x = 8. Check: f(8) = (16+5)/3 = 21/3 = 7.
