25Null space dimension

Find the dimension of the null space of A=[123246]\displaystyle A = \begin{bmatrix}1 & 2 & 3\\2 & 4 & 6\end{bmatrix}.

The null space's dimension is how many free directions solve Ax = 0. Since row 2 is twice row 1, A has rank 1, so by rank-nullity, dim(Nul A) = 3 − 1 = 2.
