38Volume by disk method

The region under y=x2\displaystyle y = x^2 for 0≤x≤1\displaystyle 0 \le x \le 1 is rotated about the x\displaystyle x-axis. Find the volume. Give the answer to 3 decimal places.

Use the disk method: each slice is a circle of radius x², area πx⁴, and the volume is the integral of πx⁴ from 0 to 1. That gives π/5 ≈ 0.628 (check: 0.628×5 ≈ π).
