99Same-side interior angles

Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. A pair of same-side interior angles formed measure (4x + 12)° and (2x + 6)°. What is the value of x?

x = 27. Same-side interior angles between parallel lines are supplementary, so (4x+12) + (2x+6) = 180. That gives 6x + 18 = 180, so 6x = 162, and x = 27. Check: 120° + 60° = 180°.
