7Limit of (tan⁡x−x)/x3(\tan x - x)/x^3

Find lim⁡x→0tan⁡x−xx3\displaystyle \lim_{x\to 0} \frac{\tan x - x}{x^3}.

Replace tan x near 0 with its series x + x³/3 + ..., subtract x to get x³/3 + higher terms, then divide by x³. As x→0 the extra terms vanish, leaving the limit = 1/3. L'Hôpital applied three times confirms 1/3.
