14Law of sines for a side
In triangle ABC, A = 40°, B = 65° and a = 12. Find b. Give the answer to 3 decimal places.
Side b ≈ 16.921. Using the law of sines, a/sin A = b/sin B gives b = 12·sin65°/sin40° ≈ 12(0.9063)/0.6428 ≈ 16.921. Checking, both ratios come out to about 18.67, confirming it.
