13Right triangle, find a leg

In right triangle ABC, ∠C = 90°, ∠A = 35° and the hypotenuse AB = 20. Find BC. Give the answer to 2 decimal places.

BC ≈ 11.47. Since BC is opposite the 35° angle and AB = 20 is the hypotenuse, sin(35°) = BC/20, so BC = 20·sin(35°) ≈ 11.47. Check: 11.47/20 ≈ 0.5735 ≈ sin(35°).
