11Right triangle, Pythagoras
An isosceles right triangle has legs of length 7. Find the hypotenuse. Give the answer to 2 decimal places.
The hypotenuse is about 9.90. Using Pythagoras, 7² + 7² = c², so c² = 98 and c = √98 ≈ 9.90, checked by squaring back to 98.01 ≈ 98.
