6Line through two points

Find the equation of the line through (1, 3) and (3, 11) in the form y = mx + b.

The line is y = 4x − 1. The slope between (1,3) and (3,11) is (11−3)/(3−1) = 4, then plugging (1,3) into y = 4x + b gives b = −1. Check: 4(3) − 1 = 11 ✓.
