Two fair dice are rolled. Find P(sum=7)\displaystyle P(\text{sum} = 7).

Count all 36 equally likely dice pairs, then count the ones summing to 7: (1,6),(2,5),(3,4),(4,3),(5,2),(6,1) — 6 pairs. So P(sum=7) = 6/36 = 1/6.
