Find the trace of A=[52103741−2]\displaystyle A = \begin{bmatrix}5 & 2 & 1\\0 & 3 & 7\\4 & 1 & -2\end{bmatrix}.

The trace is the sum of the diagonal entries: 5, 3, and −2. Adding them gives tr(A) = 5 + 3 + (−2) = 6.
